Founded in the heart of Arizona in 2023, STEAM National Honors Society 501(c)(3) was conceived by a group of high schoolers eager to create an organization that embodied our future aspirations. Throughout our time in school, we discovered an abundance of organizations to foster our skills as students, but we were disheartened to find a lack of resources to prepare us beyond high school. 

As highly driven students, we wanted to create a community where students of all ages could develop professional skills in the area of their choosing to create a generation of independent and innovative thinkers. When designing this organization we were guided by two central ideas; first, interdisciplinary interaction. We wanted a place where students didn’t have to limit themselves to just one passion. Here, every engineer can embrace their inner artist,  and every artist can embrace their inner engineer. That’s why STEAM is in our title, standing for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. We recognize that each one of these principles work in conjunction with one another, and we see our organization working the same way.

Our second central idea: entrepreneurship. Every student is the CEO of their own future, regardless of if they choose to pursue business. From knowing how to market oneself to networking, professional development is an integral part of success beyond school. At STEAM National Honor Society we aspire to provide students the skill sets for success equitably regardless of race, gender, or income level. We pride ourselves on accessibility which is why one of our goals is to offer these resources all in one place with as few barriers as possible.

Already on our journey we have acquired a 501(c)(3) status, created an entirely student-led executive board, and started chapters nationwide. We can’t wait to build a better future for students across the globe and hope that you join us in this next leg of our journey.
